My wife got a 17' MacBook Pro a couple weeks ago, and its home position is on her desk in our office. I have a Mac Pro at my desk in the same office. I also have an Apple iStereo (I forget what the real name is - the Apple boombox for iPods anyway) that I use for listening to music.
Lately I have head my wife's computer suddenly start playing music in the middle of the night. The third time it happened, I finally realized what was going on. When I press the remote control to turn on my iPod Stereo, her computer started playing in response too, if iTunes happened to be running (which it does by default when she plugs in her iPod for charging/syncing). I do not see a way to turn this off in the system prefs. Is there any way to tell the Macbook Pro to ignore the remote control? Apple REALLY needs a way to set separate frequencies. I have another iPod charger that has tape over the sensor to keep it from playing when the other iPod gets a signal.

I have a docking station connected to it for purposes of syncing my iPods (I use two daily - one in the car for podcasts and one at work for music). That has an IR sensor on the front, and I had to use tape over it to stop it from playing when I use the remote for my Apple iStereo.
